More and more travellers today choose to bring their dogs along on holiday — and we completely understand why. Adventures are better when shared with those we love, and pets truly are part of the family.
If you’re planning a getaway in the Zadar region, here’s your complete guide:
which villas accept pets, how to filter them easily, where to find real pet-friendly beaches, and how to prepare for a smooth and stress-free trip.
The Zadar Villas website includes a convenient “Pet-Friendly” search filter.

Select your travel dates.
Activate the “Pet-Friendly” / “With pet” filter.
The system will instantly display only villas that accept pets.
No more manual checking, no emailing to ask, no surprises on arrival — the search tool does all the work for you.
We highlight details such as:
whether the villa has a fenced garden,
proximity to walking paths, parks, or nature areas,
terraces and shaded outdoor areas perfect for resting,
peaceful surroundings ideal for dogs.
This way you can choose a villa that suits both your lifestyle and your dog’s needs.

Only a few beaches in the Zadar area are either officially marked as “dog beaches” or locally recognised as spaces where dogs are welcome and commonly brought by owners. These are the most reliable and truly pet-friendly options:
An officially marked and fenced dog beach.
Dogs can run, swim and play freely — a great choice for anyone looking for a certified pet-friendly location.
Located next to Kažin, this area is also used and recognised as a dog-friendly beach.
Natural, spacious and ideal for dogs who love to splash around in shallow water.
At the end of the Punta Bajlo peninsula, a small islet called St. Klement is connected by a short bridge.
This is one of Zadar’s most popular dog-swimming spots, loved by locals for years.
Crystal clear water, natural surroundings and plenty of space make it perfect for dogs.
At the very end of Mulo, under the pine trees, you’ll find a beautiful natural beach.
This spot is widely known among locals as a dog-friendly area, offering shade, peace and easy access to the sea — ideal for dogs that love nature.

avoid the hottest part of the day — early mornings and late afternoons are best,
bring fresh water and a bowl (sea water won’t help with thirst),
be careful with hot sand or asphalt,
rinse your dog with clean water after swimming,
always carry waste bags.
bring your pet’s passport, favourite toys, blanket and food,
pack flea and tick protection,
have enough water for the drive.
take breaks every 1–2 hours,
make sure the car is well ventilated and cool,
never leave your dog alone in the car.
create a small “dog corner” (blanket + bowls),
wipe paws after the beach to avoid bringing sand inside,
keep an eye on the pool — dogs shouldn’t enter because of chlorine and filtration,
always pick up after your dog inside the garden as well.

Easy villa filtering — only pet-friendly villas appear in your search results.
Thoughtfully selected villas with gardens, shade and peaceful surroundings.
Real pet-friendly beaches just a short drive away.
Miles of walking paths, pine forests and nature ideal for dogs.
A truly relaxing holiday, without stress or limitations.
